Grandien’s dissertation about Swedish scholar, art historian and architect Carl Georg Brunius, who sought to revive the mediaeval styles in his architectural work, while he detested the more recent Baroque and Rococo styles. His career as an architect began with his restoration work on Lund Cathedral in collaboration with the Stockholm architect Axel Nyström.
