First edition of the first catalogue of the collections of the Danish Academy of Arts, listing i.a. the many new plaster cast which Abildgaard had aquired from Italy in 1789. The collection of casts had previously been very modest but required 87 entries in the present catalogue. From 1791 the Academy and its collections occupied the entire castle of Charlottenburg in Copenhagen. A few more editions of the catalogue appeared, the last in 1809. In addition to the plaster casts the catalogue i.a. lists 4 marble sculptures from antiquity, as well as paintings, sculptures, medals and engravings, the total number of entries being 202. Among original works mentioned is Saly’s equestrian statue of King Frederik V.
