A large copy judging by a few leaves with preserved deckle edge at foot. Old, possibly contemporary limp boards with vellum spine, pastedowns split due to the flexibility of the covers, slight soiling and staining, very slight worming leaving text almost unaffected, neat bibliographical annotation (c. 1900) to front flyleaf in black ink with underlinings in red, annotation in pencil by Swedish collector Victor von Stedingk. An attractive copy.
Early and rare edition of Martial, with commentary by Domizio Calderini (1446-1478) and Giorgio Merula (1430-1494) surrounding the text on three sides.
