Stockholm, Hugo Gebers förlag, 1888. 8vo. [iv] + 76 pp. + frontispiece portrait, an original etching by Anders Zorn. Initials in red throughout.
Publisher’s cloth richly gilt, front wrapper (printed in red & black) bound in, insignificant wear.
Second edition of Carl Snoilsky’s ”Sonnets”, which differs significantly from the first by including the etching by Zorn, a portrait of the author, which Snoilsky himself did not rate at all. He failed to appreciate the geniality of Zorn’s new technique, and complains about it in a letter to King Oscar II, while sending him a copy of the book.
