Duplicated, unpublished thesis about “August Strindberg as a painter”, rare.

Stapled as issued, slightly worn and with a few small stains, occasional underlinings. Together with a typewritten card from the author, probably to Torsten Måtte Schmidt, stating that this thesis contains “the first results of my Strindberg studies”.

Divided into three sections: “Strindberg’s studies and early years” (Studier - första målarperioden; Konstkritikern; Avslutning på 70-talet), “The 1880s” (Illustratören; Utilistisk konstsyn; Opponentrörelsen - Bland franska bönder; Åter till skärgården), and “The importance of the 1870s and 1880s for Strindberg’s artistic development”.

Göran Söderström later published the standard works on the same subject.
