The work was an academic scandal as many of the sources (Strindberg quotations, bibliographical and other references) were falsified, “all of them designed to provide unambiguous proof that Strindberg was well informed about the most up-to-date theories of the theatre of the period, including the work of Adolphe Appia, Otto Brahm, and Julius Bab, as well as Edward Gordon Craig and Georg Fuchs” (Robinson, An International Annotated Bibliography of Strindberg Studies 1870–2005).

Paul "Palle" Granditsky (1923–2001) was a Swedish actor and theatre director.
